Mechanical Press Services

Midsouth Mechanical provides many types of press services including installation, repair, rebuild, manufacturing, assembly and testing, disassembly and inspection, preventative maintenance, mechanical upgrades, and electrical upgrades.

Our mechanical contracting capabilities include welding on-site or in our warehouse for the repair of small parts or frames and other equipment. We often perform emergency repairs in the field and have an emergency number for these repairs listed on the top of our home page. We strive to accommodate customers’ needs and get the job done in the best way possible for your team. Our goal is to minimize downtime and costs for our customers. Our press services are limitless. From small repairs and adjustments to complete rebuilds in your facility. We can disassemble and ship the necessary parts in need of repair, rebuilding and/or replacement back to our facilities where our staff can clean, inspect, rebuild, fabricate, purchase new, fit, install, and machine any necessary parts. Once all parts are hand-fitted and checked for proper operation in our shop, the parts will be packaged for protection and shipped back to the customer along with our fully insured and qualified mechanics for reassembly. We have the “right tools, for the right job” and the experience needed regardless of the press manufacturer.

Installation of mechanical presses is not only safe, but it is also crucial to the success of your company. Our mechanical installation team has experience on all makes and models of mechanical presses and the skills to set up a new or used mechanical press for optimal performance.

Mechanical Press Repairs

Midsouth Mechanical offers mechanical press repairs that are quick and reliable. Midsouth’s mechanical engineers have repaired all types of presses from multi-million dollar, computerized CNC machines to the oldest mechanical presses dating back 100 years. We have been repairing mechanical presses for decades and have seen it all.

Our mechanical team is equipped with the latest tools, equipment, and technology necessary to provide services for any mechanical press; no matter what make or model. Our mechanical service department offers onsite repairs as well as in-shop repairs, sometimes with same-day turnaround.

Press Repairs at OEM levels can be costly but not with Midsouth’s immediate attention to your concerns resulting in low-cost press repairs most times.

Mechanical Press Rebuilds

Midsouth Mechanical provides mechanical press rebuilds if your mechanical press needs a major overhaul to get it running at top performance.

Mechanical presses can be so old and obsolete that they require total rebuilding if you wish them to function as well as or better than when they were new. If you have mechanical presses that need rebuilding, Midsouth has the expertise and equipment necessary to get the job done right! Our mechanical engineers and production managers are experienced in re-engineering mechanical presses for optimal performance while still maintaining the original design intent of the manufacturer.

When we rebuild mechanical presses we consider all factors, such as: age of machine, mechanical parts availability, cost of repairs vs replacement parts/machine, engineering, metal fabrication capabilities within our shop.

Mechanical Press Preventative Maintenance

No mechanical press is indestructible and all mechanical presses can and do need regular maintenance. There are several preventative measures that any mechanical press owner or operator can take to ensure increased mechanical press life and minimized mechanical press downtime.

With this in mind, Midsouth plans services according to our customer’s needs so they don’t have unexpected mechanical difficulties or production downtime. We have found the most efficient way to plan repairs/service is to perform a Preventative Maintenance checklist which includes visual inspections of mechanical parts associated with mechanical presses as well as lubrication checklists done at preset intervals based on your machine’s age/hours of operation. This service ensures your presses are ready for production when you need them!

Our mechanical press preventative maintenance service not only includes calibrating mechanical parts associated with mechanical presses for optimal performance, but also includes the lubrication of mechanical parts such as slides, bearings, and rods to ensure your mechanical press is ready to go when you need it!

Bearings will wear out over time no matter how well they are maintained. They must be serviced regularly so that they can provide years of trouble-free operation. Lubricated properly, bearings reduce heat and friction which increases life and decreases energy consumption. Bearing services help extend bearing life and decrease downtime due to equipment failure.
