The Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, recently unveiled plans for a significant boost in employment opportunities in Chatham County, a testament to the region’s thriving industrial sector.

Seoyon E-HWA, a renowned global provider of automotive parts known for its premium quality interior and exterior components, is gearing up to establish a new manufacturing facility in the area. This exciting development represents an investment of nearly $76 million and is anticipated to generate an impressive 740 jobs, both directly and indirectly linked to the new facility.

“Last year’s monumental economic development announcement was just the beginning of our commitment to bolstering job prospects and providing an abundance of opportunities to Georgia’s dedicated workforce,” commented Governor Kemp.

Strategically positioned at the Savannah Chatham Manufacturing Center, Seoyon’s new facility will be an addition to its robust global network. Founded in 1972, Seoyon E-HWA has a rich history in automotive manufacturing and has proven to be a reliable partner for some of the world’s leading car manufacturers. Their diverse product offerings, ranging from door trims and headlining to bumpers and seats, are integral parts of vehicles from brands like Hyundai Motor Group, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, and Volkswagen.

In the context of mechanical contracting, Seoyon’s experience in producing high-quality, precision-engineered automotive components is crucial. Their expertise encompasses advanced manufacturing processes and techniques, which are required to ensure parts perform under the high-stress conditions of automotive operation. This new facility will focus on crafting interior automotive parts, including door trims, headlining, and tailgate trims. Chairman of Seoyon E-HWA, Ryu Yang-seok, shared his hopes for the impact of the new establishment, stating, “The inception of Seoyon E-HWA Savannah is aimed at creating job opportunities and transforming Savannah into a crucial hub for automotive development and manufacturing.”

Production operations at the new Seoyon E-HWA facility are slated to commence in October 2024. It’s projected that around 500 of the newly announced positions will be permanent roles, spanning various departments including human resources, development, quality, and production personnel. This large-scale investment signifies a promising advancement for both Seoyon E-HWA and the local economy, further strengthening Georgia’s position as a powerhouse in the automotive industry.
