Meeting the Challenging Demands of the Oil & Chemical Industries

Working in the chemical industry creates many challenges due to the hazardous conditions that could be present. We have a training program specifically for working in this industry that all employees have to successfully complete before working on a site. Special safety equipment and tools are required for this industry and our employees are trained and certified in advance of working at these facilities. Our experience in the petrochemical industry includes the installation of large tanks, piping services including process piping, and prefabrication of complex components.

    Petrochemical Process Piping

Process piping is an essential part of the process that converts crude oil to useful products. Piping conveys flammable materials, pressurized liquids and solids throughout a refinery or chemical plant. These types of facilities are typically very large in size with high complexities requiring mechanical contractors who have experience working on these types of projects. Our mechanical engineers design systems using the latest computer-aided design (CAD) to ensure a safe, reliable system.

Many mechanical contractors have a difficult time designing mechanical systems for process piping because of the unique aspects inherent to mechanical design within chemical facilities. At Midsouth Mechanical, we have been successfully designing these types of mechanical equipment and support systems for process piping in chemical plants for many years.

    Preventative Maintenance

Preventative maintenance and maintenance support is a proactive approach to mechanical system integrity management. This includes the inspection, testing, and analysis of mechanical equipment or systems for abnormalities or deviations from standard operating conditions. The goal is to maintain mechanical systems in optimal condition, preventing unscheduled downtime and maximizing the lifespan of mechanical systems. Our mechanical engineers and project managers work with the client to ensure their mechanical systems maintain maximum efficiency and availability by performing preventative maintenance. A proactive approach to mechanical system maintenance is critical in order for a mechanical contractor to provide effective services in the oil & chemical industry.

    Rigging & Machine Moving

Rigging is the mechanical contractor’s approach to moving, placing, and installing mechanical equipment safely. Our rigging department has the capability to lift heavy loads that range from one ton up to 150 tons. Not only do we have a variety of heavy-duty cranes and forklifts, but we also have warehouse space throughout the Southeast. We can store large machines until they are needed.
