Rigging and Moving Heavy Machinery for Aerospace & Defense Companies

Tasks like rigging and moving heavy machinery often require specialized knowledge, experience, equipment, and coordination. That’s where Midsouth comes in. We offer rigging services for all types of heavy machinery.

Machine rigging is about planning the safest course of action then executing it perfectly on time, every time with safety as our number one priority.

At Midsouth, we start by assessing your rigging needs and determining what task you’re facing: a relocation or an installation? Do you need disassembly, rigging, loading, transportation or assembly? What will you be moving – a single machine or multiple machines? How close to other fixed objects can it get? Will this affect rigging equipment? Our project managers are experienced in all types of Aerospace rigging needs and will guide you through the planning process.

Aerospace Steel Fabrication

Aerospace companies have to adhere to stringent safety regulations, which is why aerospace facilities are designed with specialized equipment and machinery. This means that aerospace buildings require more than just shelter; they also need to provide additional features such as accessibility, security, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

One of the construction methods that aerospace companies are currently choosing is steel structure construction. As a leaner alternative to conventional constructions, it has many benefits over the other types of building construction. Steel structures are constructed using large pieces of steel beams, columns, girders, trusses, and metal plates interconnected by various fittings like nuts and bolts or welding making steel structures strong enough to support significant structural loads or wind pressure.

Steel structure construction is also a popular choice for aerospace companies because it’s customizable and can accommodate different equipment and machinery compatibility requirements. It also comes in a variety of finishes from galvanized steel to stainless steel depending on the design concept. Its panels are flexible enough to be used as shutters or can be easily removed if panels need to be relocated.

Meeting the HVAC Demands of the Aerospace Industry

The aerospace industry is highly demanding. This isn’t surprising because aerospace companies are pushing the envelope on technological advancements with military fighter jets, transport planes, and space shuttles. That’s quite an evolution from Wilbur and Orville Wright’s first flight at Kitty Hawk in 1903! Today aerospace companies rely on high-tech computerized equipment to design aircraft that will fly faster, further, and more effectively than ever before. And they rely on HVAC technology that can operate under extremely tough conditions to ensure the machinery functions as expected. For aerospace HVAC contractors, this means achieving customer comfort while maintaining steady control of airflow across multiple zones of varying temperatures.

Safety is paramount in everything we do.

Milliken, Project Manager

We utilized Midsouth Mechanical most recently on a large project located in Columbus, Georgia, and they were great to work with from the bidding phase all the way through completed construction. We have found that Midsouth Mechanical’s quality of work to be excellent and their pricing very competitive.
