Power to the Grid: Turbine First Fire Reached

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MAJOR PROJECT MILESTONE REACHED
Turbine achieves first fire as Midsouth pushes toward final commissioning

LaGrange, GA — November 6, 2025 — Midsouth Mechanical announced today that it has successfully completed the first firing of a turbine as part of a multi-year, four-unit dual-fuel conversion project. This milestone marks a major step toward final construction, testing, and commissioning.

The first fire generated power to the grid using fuel oil, representing the culmination of more than two years of intensive work. The project has involved thousands of labor hours across multiple disciplines, including civil construction, mechanical installation, rigging, electrical integration, and systems testing.

“This achievement reflects the dedication and technical expertise of our entire team, as well as the collaboration and commitment of our subcontractors and project partners,” said Greg Arrington, President. “Reaching first fire is a critical milestone, and we are proud of the coordinated effort that brought us here.”

With this phase complete, the project shifts into its final commissioning stage. Teams will continue performance testing and system verification as the facility prepares to move toward full operational status.

Midsouth Mechanical remains committed to delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient project execution throughout the final stages of this conversion effort.
