Hyundai Expands Production at Its Montgomery, Alabama Facility
Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) has announced plans to build its hybrid version of the Santa Fe sport utility along with the first Electrified Genesis GV70 SUV at its Montgomery manufacturing facility. This expansion will create additional jobs and solidify Hyundai’s commitment to the state of Alabama.
The Santa Fe hybrid will be powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor, while the GV70 SUV will be available with either a 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 or a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, both of which will be paired with an electric motor. Both vehicles will offer buyers excellent fuel economy and emissions ratings, making them ideal choices for eco-conscious consumers.
With this expansion, HMMA will become the first automotive assembly plant in the United States to produce both hybrid and electrified vehicles on the same production line. This achievement is a testament to Hyundai’s commitment to leading the way in alternative fuel vehicle production. The addition of these new models to HMMA’s Montgomery facility will create additional jobs and help to solidify Alabama’s position as a leader in the automotive industry.
