Boston Scientific, a leading medical device manufacturer, is investing $62.5 million in a new facility in Georgia. The investment will create nearly 500 jobs in the state. The new facility will be located in the Atlanta metro area and will produce catheter-based products. It is expected to be operational by the end of 2019. The company currently has two manufacturing facilities in Georgia, which employ a total of 1,200 people. With this latest investment, Boston Scientific will have a significant presence in the state.

This news is a boon for Georgia’s economy, as it will bring much-needed jobs to the state. It is also a testament to the business-friendly environment that Georgia offers. This investment is yet another example of the state’s attractiveness to businesses. Recently Georgia has welcomed Rivian, a manufacturer of electric vehicles (EVs), and has announced that Hyundai will begin manufacturing EVs near Savannah, Georgia.

In addition to offering well-developed infrastructure, Georgia is also home to a well-trained workforce including many who work in mechanical trades. As a leading Southeastern mechanical contractor, Midsouth Mechanical has worked on many large projects, especially in the automotive sector. With an extensive list of mechanical capabilities including rigging, millwrighting, piping, and steel services, we are well-suited to work with many different industries.

With this latest announcement, it’s clear that Georgia is diversifying from pulp and paper operations to cutting-edge automotive, medical, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
