When you think of ports in the United States, you probably think of Los Angeles and New York. From 2000 – 2005, the Port of Savannah was the fastest growing port in the U.S. This is impressive considering there is competition nearby in both directions. The Port of Charleston in South Carolina to the immediate north and the Port of Jacksonville to the south in Florida. The Port of Savannah is capable of handling 2.64M twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) which is an impressive capacity for any port.

The port connects to the city of Atlanta and the Southeast via Interstates 16 and 75. Many industries depend on this port as a vital part of their supply chain. Throughout the past two decades, many international auto manufacturers have relocated their plants to the Southeast.
